Saturday Spin at MOHAI — The Legacy of Seattle Hip-Hop

By Audeos
DJing the Saturday Spin at MOHAI during the Legacy of Seattle Hip-Hop exhibit in January 2016.
Played the Saturday Spin at MOHAI — spinning vinyl in the Walker Gallery from 1 to 4 as part of their Legacy of Seattle Hip-Hop exhibit. Every second Saturday during the exhibit run, a local DJ played for museum visitors while they walked through the gallery.

The exhibit itself was curated by Jazmyn Scott and Aaron Walker-Loud — graffiti art, hand-painted denim jackets, interactive beat-making stations, old Coolout Network interviews from public access, and a full timeline of Seattle hip-hop going all the way back to the Emerald Street Boys in 1979. DJing right next to all of that history was a trip. Boom Squad jerseys on the wall, spinning tracks that came out of this same city.
