Might be the first DJ to play the new event space behind Pike Place Market. The gig was for the Laird Norton Wealth Management 50th anniversary celebration — a corporate event on the waterfront deck overlooking Puget Sound and the Seattle skyline.
The setup was outdoor under tents with a full turntable rig — Rane TTM 57SL mixer, technics, QSC speakers. Beautiful day for it. Sun was out, crowd was vibing, and the view from the booth was unreal. Not a bad office for the afternoon.
Corporate gigs are a different energy — you're not there to get people on the dance floor, you're reading a room full of people having conversations. Keep it moving without overpowering. That's where the professional skills come into play.
