      "content_html": "## Free Cannabis Product Recall Plan Template (WAC 314-55 Compliance – Washington State)\n\nIf you operate a licensed cannabis producer or processor in Washington State, you are required to maintain a Cannabis Product Recall Plan as part of your regulatory compliance documentation.\n\nUnder WAC 314-55-225, Washington cannabis licensees must have procedures in place for identifying, managing, and reporting product recalls that may pose a risk to consumers.\n\nWhen I was preparing compliance documentation for my own I-502 producer/processor license, I discovered that while this requirement is clearly outlined in the regulations, it’s surprisingly difficult to find a usable recall plan template online.\n\nSo I’m making one available here as a free Microsoft Word template for Washington cannabis license holders.\n\n## Free Download: Cannabis Product Recall Plan Template\n\nDownload the editable Word template below and customize it for your cannabis business.\n\n## Download:\n## [📄 Cannabis Product Recall Plan Template (Microsoft Word](https://assets.ctfassets.net/pvyz1kbxgmyk/4GdoQvdrGFOv5v6UljncED/1876474fbea02911f985011122150253/Cannabis_Product_Recall_Plan_Template.docx))\n\nThis template allows you to quickly fill in:\n\n- Company name\n- WSLCB license number\n- Recall coordinator\n- Contact information\n- Internal recall procedures\n\n## Why a Recall Plan Is Required in Washington\n\nWashington cannabis regulations require licensees to have documented procedures for recalling products that may present a risk to consumers.\n\nA recall may be necessary in situations such as:\n\n- Detection of unapproved pesticides\n- Pesticide levels above allowable limits\n- Residual solvent levels exceeding regulatory thresholds\n- Contamination or ingredients unfit for human consumption\n- Other safety issues discovered after products have been distributed\n\nHaving a written recall plan ensures that licensees can respond quickly to protect consumers and coordinate with the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (WSLCB).\n\n## What This Recall Plan Template Includes\n\nThe template outlines a structured recall process including:\n\n### Recall Coordinator\n\nDesignation of a responsible individual within your company who manages the recall process.\n\n### Recall Investigation\n\nSteps for investigating complaints or potential safety issues, including reviewing traceability data, lab results, and product distribution.\n\n### Notification Procedures\n\nProcedures for promptly notifying:\n\n- WSLCB enforcement officers\n- Retailers or other recipients of affected product\n- Consumers (when necessary)\n\n### Product Retrieval\n\nSteps for identifying and retrieving affected products from the supply chain.\n\n### Product Remediation or Destruction\n\nCoordination with WSLCB to determine whether recalled product must be:\n\n- Remediated\n- Salvaged\n- Destroyed\n\n### Recall Tracking and Reporting\n\nMaintaining records and providing progress updates to WSLCB until recall closure is approved.\n\n## Why I’m Hosting This Template\n\nThis Cannabis Product Recall Plan Template was originally shared as a courtesy resource by the Cannabis Farmers Council to assist Washington cannabis farmers with compliance.\n\nHowever, when I went looking for the file online, I discovered that it was very difficult to find freely available.\n\nThe only place I was able to locate it was on a document subscription website (pdffiller.com) that required a paid subscription to access it.\n\nSince this document was originally meant to help Washington cannabis licensees with compliance, I believe it should remain freely accessible to the industry.\n\nAs a licensed Washington State I-502 producer/processor, I’m hosting this Word version so other operators can easily access and customize it.\n\n## Who This Template Is For\n\nThis template may be useful if you are:\n\n- A Washington cannabis producer\n- A Washington cannabis processor\n- A new I-502 license applicant\n- Preparing compliance documentation\n- Updating your standard operating procedures (SOPs)\n- Preparing for a WSLCB inspection or audit\n\n## Important Disclaimer\n\nThis template was originally provided by the Cannabis Farmers Council and reviewed by an LCB Compliance Officer.\n\nHowever:\n\n- It does not constitute legal advice\n- It does not guarantee regulatory compliance\n- Each cannabis business should review and adapt the document to fit its own operations\n\nYou may wish to consult a cannabis compliance professional or attorney before implementing it.\n\n## Supporting Washington Cannabis Operators\n\nNavigating compliance in the regulated cannabis industry can be complex and time-consuming.
